I have been reading on Mythical creatures and monsters from legends , books and movies. And thought I would start a thread on it. sense we haven't talked much on it in awhile.
My first subject will be the Black Dog.
it is said to have teeth very long and sharp. with foul smelling saliva. smelling of sulfer.
it has long claws that dont make any sound as he walks or runs. Plus he doesn't leave any foot prints even in wet soft dirt.
Legend has it that if you see this dark black dog with either glowing red eyes, bad luck or even death is close at hand. This dog is said to be huge and only comes out at night.
You will feel an unnatural chill before you se it appear. It has been said that the Scandinavians brought the stories of the black dog over with them. A black dog visited a church of Blythburgh in Suffolk around 1577 and killed three people. Black dogs stories is what Conan Doyle was influenced by when he wrote his Sherlock Holmes story, The Hound of the Baskervilles.
The earliest known repoet of a black dog was in France in AD 856. One materialized in a chirch even though the doors were @#%$. The church got daord as the dog walked up and down the aisle. Like it was looking for someone. then it dissappeared as suddenly as it appeared.
In Missouri a hunter once threw an az at an enoumous black dog, it went right threw him.
Where in the world is this beast mostly seen?
Most come from Britain and Ireland. But sightings has also popped up in Scandinavia, Germany, France and Nova Scotia in Canada. Also in eastern part of the United States.
