If they are so tiny how can you see if their ears are pointed or not? And why the pointed hats? I mean, would a gnome or elf in Hawaii dress exactly the same as their conterparts in Alaska?

no....a gnome elf and dwarf are different just as any human or animal is different. Most have things that are quick to identify them
A leprechaun is a small male faerie that is about a foot high. Has a little coat that is either red, yellow or green. Most have tri-corner hats. They are usually seen among mushrooms and at the bases of really old trees. Gnomes are usually brown little wizen old men that look like they are made out of tree bark. Elves really depend on what kind of elf it is. There are Seelie and Unseelie. Some are very beautiful and so me are so horrible that humans have been said to die of fright at nearly watching them walk by. Most cultures have different types of "little people". Alaska and most of the Northen states have what is called "Mantau" (sp) < I am sorry I don't have my notes sitting right here> these look mostly like humans with animal likenesses or very large animals. Those in Hawaii are tiny dark little things that alternately give good or bad luck depending on what you do to them and their home. Their are reports of roving bands of fae in the islands that will strike dead anyone one who happens to see them. The only way to survive is to take off all your clothes and lay face down and not to look at them. There are similarities in Celtic and Irish Fae, but they are too much to list as well as marked differences. One is that dwarfs and elves and humans were made from the body of a dead giant in Nortic myth. While creation myths in Celtic are very hard to come by and take a lot of digging to find. One myth is the Tuatha De Dannon (elves and gods) came out of the sky riding on the clouds. I guess it all depends on the concepts of the people doing the viewing. A lot of documented cases have people seeing the same kind of thing. Just like I have found out on a n other board My husband and a Friend on line have seen the same kinds of gnome like creature and they have never met. |
