Not much again this year.I think all people "playing" in the woods keep them away.
We did get a few odd pictures.
If you like orbs, here's one that seems to be moving.
If I can find more interesting pics in my file,I'll be sure to share them.

Nice pic Jay!
Was this one of the only ones that turned out anything peculiar? Did you have any strange feelings out there at all? Feel free to post as many unusual or unexplainable pics as you can, I always enjoy pouring over them! Thanks so much for sharing, in sharing we all learn. ![]() ![]() I asked God for all things so that I may enjoy life, God said, "No, I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things." The orb does look like its moving.
I have a question....When you take pictures out like that, in known haunted places. Do you get that feeling that you need to take a picture of that area? or do you just randomly snap pictures? Me and Star was at a cemetery and this one night I got goose bumps first on the bottoms of my legs around my ankles. (it was a very warm night so it couldnt have been from the cold.) it was July 4 actually. Then the tingling slowly started up my legs. We snapped a ton of pictures and the tingling got more intense and when it reached my waist we left. Not because of that, becuase it was late. We got some orbs but thats about all we got from there. and when we got about a mile from the cemetery the tingling stopped. So I was wondering if anything like that happened to you when your out there taking pictures? ![]() EAT BEEF - The west wasn't won on salad! Red meat isn't bad for you ... MD and App,
Yes I/we get a strange feeling sometimes. It's hard to discribe. Y'all have had the same feelings I'm sure. There's the usual "cold" feeling when a spirit or ghost passes thru you. Some times something in the back of my mind says go here or there to take a picture. Most of the time I go to where I feel there is something and snap a few random pictures. I'll put up 4 I took in this post.In one there's a red glow like I got last year in Mexia, then nothing and then 2 more.It seems to be moving towards me.I've edited the pictures, but I would be than happy to email you the originals. A friend I was with that night got spooked when he went across the old bridge where I got that ecto Star put up on this site 2 years ago.He turned around and came back to camp.He told me that "we didn't need to go there tonight". I didn't question it,I've been spooked there before myself. So the story goes at this particular location, the Confederates captured and shot 600 black Federals. That does not include the other losses from both sides. We have witched the area and there is hardly a place where there is not a grave. There is lots of activity at the old battle field and many reenactors ghost hunt while there. There have been many reports of apparitions sighted and my wife and her freind saw one moving along the tree line. Well I got a little long winded on this post.LOL ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Jay

App,
I really don't know what that is.There were no rocks out there, could be ant hills though. There was no shortage of fire ants, that's for sure.Do they mess up your pastures? Remember horny toads? We got to talking about them and tried to figure out how many years it's been since anyone has seen one in the wild. Jay

I noticed that too App but couldn't tell what it was.
Horny toads - I thought those were only in that Old Yeller Movie? We use to have rabbit and fox out where I live like crazy, now almost all the fox are gone. We see bunnies every now and then, like once or twice a year. We do have some hoot owls and a hawk though. ![]() ![]() I asked God for all things so that I may enjoy life, God said, "No, I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things." Horny toads! My lands its been FOREVER sense I have seen a horny toad out in the pastures. We used to catch them little suckers ALL THE TIME! Even as an adult I remember catching them and showing my kids. They were very small at the time (the kids not the toads
Jay are you calling those big red ants fire ants? I only know them as those big @$$ red ants that hurt like hell when they sting you! and yes we have alot of them around here. I have found out thou, When a cow dies with a big set of horns. if you take it (the head) and soak it for a while in water, then set it by one of those red ant hills they will have that sucker stripped in days! (yes I am one hick, sick, chick LMAO) ok Ill explain the WHY I do this. . . I paint on them. we country folk, has weird taste when it comes to art! LOL and they (the cows) ALWAYS die of natural causes! or at the meat packers, which ever comes first. One thing we are not short in supply of is Rattle snakes, Copper Heads, all water snakes and dang ol Coyotes. We have three that would come in the yard if the dogs didnt keep them ran off. It really makes me worry about the grandkids out side with out me being out there to watch them. Coyotes are to dang brave anymore! and foxes Like Myst said. They are something to see, if you happen to get a glimpses of one anymore. Beautiful animals. Myst we have hoot owls to! LOL I have always called them hoot owls! and in the winter here, some Bald Eagles nest and hang out all winter. Ok story time...(and Jay just thinks he can get long winded LMAO) Sorry my smilies ain't showing up tonight. . . When my girls was little, If I had to guess an age I would say 5 or 6 up to 10 or so. They would be outside playing if buzzards started flying over head they would lay down and play like they were dead! Tongue hanging out and the whole bit! LMAO So the buzzards would come down and land - or so thats what they wanted to happen!! *boy did they keep me entertained!* they cracked me up. ok so they sorta kinda got the idea from me in a round about odd way....when we were out and they would come gliding over head (the buzzards not the kids) I would tell the kids MOVE or the buzzards will think your dead and come down and start pecking on you! Being country kids they thought that would be cool! What were we talking about? LOL Sorry Jay but THATS being long winded! ![]() EAT BEEF - The west wasn't won on salad! App,
Fire ants are red,but small and boy do they sting! They'll swarm you if you disturb the mound.they've been known to swarm and kill new born calves when they land on or close to the mound, which ranchers didn't like too much. Some say that's what happened to the horney toad, more than he could handle. We have rabbits hear, but I only see them during the cold weather months. We have plenty of buzzards also.Like your kids, one of our dogs Bubba was spotted napping and before you knew it they were circling him. Jay

greetings,
i haven't been around these parts for a long time, so i hope i don't step on any toes with this. but, that first photo that was posted in the thread, is showing the characteristics of a droplet of rain. when rain is shown in a photo, it will show a streak under it making it look as if it is shooting up into the air. when its really just falling, the drop is falling at such a rate that the initial push of the button to snap the photo capture the round rain drop, but while the shot is still exposing the droplet continues to fall, which creates the streak under it, cause it to look like its shooting up into the air. anyway, my personal opinion on that shot, is it is a droplet of rain. had it begun to sprinkle that night there or rain? was it humid out? blessings, ![]() "a person can be so open minded, that they infact are close minded."-ME "Pluralitas non est ponenda sine neccesitate"-William of Ockham (Ockham's razor) |

Nope,no rain at the time it was taken, although there were storms brewing neaby. As far the humidity level,it seemed low.
But in high humidity areas you get sorta used to it. No toes stepped on here.Everyone has an opinion and should be treated with respect,as long as respect is given. Jay

Jay, I have read and heard about reenactiments on, I think, Kennesaw mountain in Georgia, where the reenacters will see "extra" campfires along the tree lines, and hear soldiers marching in formation at night around the reenacters' campsite. There are even stories of encountering fellow "reenactors" only to have them disappear...
Are there any stories like that from Pleasant Hill? Thank you for sharing the piccies! ![]() *********************************** I will dance again in heaven, and there will be no crates. |

Ruq,
Yes there are some similar stories at PH.I've heard stories about one couple, the man is inour battery, anyway they were going to drain some coffee and almost stepped on a guy laying on the ground covered by a blanket. They said "sorry" and he only starred. He was not there on their way back. We did see waht appeared to be camp fires off in the distance,in an area that was off limits. They seemed to move away as we advanced thru the woods. We never did find them. Another friend told me about an incident a few years ago.He heard talking late one night when everyone was supposed to be asleep. He looked out of his tent and saw what he claims were 2 Confederate ghost sitting at the camp fire having a cup coffee.I was not there so I don't know how true it is,but he is a reliable person. If I remember more I'll post them in new topic. Jay

Wow! Thanks, Jay! I've also read that many people in southern Appalachia don't like the reenactment groups, because they believe they draw back the spirits of the actual civil war soldiers. Wonder if there's something to that...

Re: Pleasant Hill | ||

Okay y'all, here are some more.I may have told these before.
One guy told me that at one reenactment,up near Gettysburg I believe, they heard the sound of horses and wagon wheels coming down the path behind. It was dark and everyone should have been in camp and the horses on the picket line. So that sat there until it sounded like they were really close before they moved. The sound of the horse went by them but they saw nothing. Another fella,a reenactor I know, went to Gettysburg on vacation with his wife.He decided to walk through the woods in an area were his g-g-grandpa went thru through during the battle. His wife waited on top of the hill in the car.Darkness began to fall and storms were blowing in.He knew he had to get back pronto. But which way?He was losing all land marks fast. He was lost in the woods. This is when he asked grandpa for help. Just then he saw a fawn standing by a tree. The deer just looked at him and started walking off.He decided to follow the deer, which led him out of the woods. While all this was going on his wife was visited by what she thought was a reenactor. He told her not to worry, that "Jim-Bob" was a big boy and would be along directly. She wondered how in the world this mystery man knew her husbands name and where did he come from so suddenly. She looked away for a moment and when she turned to ask the man a question he had vanished. Well "Jim-Bob" made it back to his wife and told her "Honey..you ain't gonna believe this..." and she said "No wait, cuz you ain't gonna believe this...". More to come! Jay

I wonder why Grandpa didn't help him out? I mean to send the deer to help him...or maybe it was someone higher that sent the deer? Either way I'm glad things worked out.
On the other story... I have heard my Mother in law tell stories about hearing horses walking and men talking and no one there. Wouldn't that be something to hear? A horse walking by you, hearing him breath and his hoofs and the saddle leather squeak. I would have to say that WOULD be a Kodak moment! ![]() Train yourself to feel compassion or all beings. Re: Pleasant Hill | ||

Actually I have heard hoof steps and no horse. It was at the dinner theater I worked at during a "fire watch". When we would get freeze warnings they would drain the fire sprinkler systems. Because it was shut down someone would have to spend the night in the barn to make sure a fire did not break out for insurance reasons.
Imagine walking down the aisle of a barn at 2AM and hear hoofsteps on the next aisle over. You go over to the next aisle to see what horse is loose so you can put it away. Only to find no loose horse. So you walk the aisle checking all the tie stalls to make sure the horses are securely tied. Everything is good so you head back to the first aisle from the third and hear hooves on the first aisle. The first aisle is all box stalls so if a horse loose he'd be lose in the aisleway. Get to the first aisle, nothing. I ran for the security office. Got there and the security guy looks at me and thinks a fire broke out. When I relate the story he busts out laughing and says "Oh that just Ace. When you hear that just say 'Goodnight Ace' and it will stop." I went back out to the barn and double checked the horses again and went back into the office. A short time later I hear hooves again. Walk the aisles again, nothing. Sit back down in the office and again I hear hooves. Get up walk the aisles one more time. This time as I'm heading back for the office I hear the hooves on the first aisle again. For the heck of it I say "Goodnight Ace.". Didn't hear hooves the rest of the night. |
